Job summary

Ballarat Specialist School in Ballarat is seeking an Education Support Leader to provide integrated operational, therapeutic and wellbeing leadership within the mini school. This senior role supports teachers and education support staff in day-to-day problem solving, student safety and personal care.

The role carries cross-team leadership across multiple classrooms, working with the Leading Teacher and PLC Leader to ensure the mini school operates safely, responsively and in the best interests

Qualifications

Strong ability to support students with complex needs and safety concerns.
Proven leadership of Education Support staff and mentoring.
Effective communication with teachers, leaders and allied health staff.
Ability to manage competing priorities and plan staff allocation.
Understanding of student safety, child protection and school processes.

Responsibilities

Provide timely behaviour support and personal care within the mini school.
Act as first response for student safety matters and attendance oversight.
Deliver one-to-one support and whole-class interventions as required.
Coordinate staff coaching, problem-solving and day-to-day operations.
Maintain liaison with allied health and ensure plans are followed.
