Swan Christian College is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Education Assistants to join our team in January 2026. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Positions include:
Learning Enrichment Education Assistants (Full-time and Part-time, Years 3-6): Support student progress through targeted literacy and numeracy intervention, working with individuals and small groups.
Early Years Education Assistant (0.6 FTE, Kindergarten): Assist in a 3-day Kindergarten classroom, helping foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
These roles are ideal for experienced and qualified Education Assistants passionate about making a difference in students’ learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the biblical foundation of Christian Education and the College’s values within the Swan Christian Education Association context.
- Support students and assist teachers in classroom activities and daily operations.
- Help teach and supervise small groups under teacher direction.
- Work sensitively and effectively with students of varying abilities.
- Actively participate in all aspects of College life—spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural, and social.
- Adhere to all College policies and procedures.
- Support the Learning Enrichment team in delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions (Years 3–6).
- Work with students individually or in small groups to support diverse learning needs.
- Work as part of a collaborative Learning Enrichment team.
- Understand and uphold the Christian foundation, values, and practices of the College and Swan Christian Education Association.
- Engage sensitively and competently with students of varying abilities and additional needs.
- Actively participate in all aspects of College life and follow College policies.
Selection Criteria
- To have a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and be an active member of a Christian Church.
- To accept the Association’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Statements of Belief and Educational Objectives and be living a lifestyle consistent with these statements.
- The ability to build and maintain strong healthy relationships between families, the SCEA Head Office staff and the College.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in a narrow time frame.
- Proven ability to show initiative and take direction.

- Ability to foster creativity in students
- Strong literacy and numeracy knowledge
- Recent professional development relating to student support
