Software Engineer, Mobile Apps

Grade: SNSW Grade 7/8

Locations: Haymarket, Gosford, or Parramatta

The Mobile Apps Team

Specializing in Android and iOS application development, responsible for the Service NSW mobile apps and digital licenses within the apps.

About the role

You will support the development of mobile app and digital license products within an agile team, contributing to reliable and scalable customer-facing applications and backend systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing, designing, deploying, and operating features for our products.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and leadership to maintain high quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Design scalable products, reduce duplication, and optimize development pipelines.

Your skills and experience

• Strong software engineering background with experience in full stack development and exposure to XP practices like TDD and Pair Programming.
• Collaborative mindset with experience working in agile teams.
• Understanding of systems thinking and technical design in complex ecosystems.
• Knowledge of software design, testing, and security principles.
• Customer-focused with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in mobile application development, including design and user experience.

Technical skills

• Proficiency in languages such as Kotlin, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and frameworks like React Native, Android, or iOS.
• Experience with frontend/backend development, API design, cloud storage, and containerized infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Location and Salary

Roles are based at McKell, Parramatta, or Gosford, with flexibility for other locations. Salary starts at $102,899 plus superannuation.
