Job summary

University High School in Melbourne seeks qualified classroom teachers to join our vibrant inner-city learning community. The role focuses on planning, preparation and delivery of programs to support student outcomes, with responsibilities varying by Range 1 or Range 2.

The successful applicant will teach Economics to VCE level, collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and contribute to school policies and professional learning.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum with the ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact on student learning growth.
• Experience using data to inform teaching and providing feedback to students and parents.
• Ability to establish collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider school community.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum within the school.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
