Health Food Store is hiring a Casual/Temporary Ecommerce Specialist role in Burwood East, VIC. Apply now to be part of our team.

About the role

Support the growth of our online sales by keeping our Amazon, Shopify website channels accurate, in-stock and well-merchandised—while ensuring orders are picked, packed and shipped on time.

Key responsibilities
  • Order & fulfilment
    • Process daily Amazon and website orders; pick, pack and dispatch on schedule.
    • Liaise with couriers on pickups, tracking and delivery issues.
    • Maintain high order accuracy and a tidy packing/stock area.
    • Manage customer communications (invoice requests, delivery issues, returns/refunds).
  • Listings & merchandising
    • Create and maintain product listings on Amazon and our website (titles, bullets, descriptions, images etc).
    • Maintain correct pricing, variations, tags/collections and cross-sells.
    • Monitor compliance (Amazon policies and AU health product guidelines) and resolve suppressed/flagged listings.
    • Work with other team members to get the listing issues fixed
  • Inventory & purchasing
    • Track stock levels across the retail store and Amazon FBA to prevent out-of-stocks.
    • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) for approval and follow up on ETAs.
    • Plan and create FBA shipments; expand the number of SKUs held in FBA and keep key items in stock.
    • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile variances.
  • Product growth
    • Research and recommend new products from existing and new suppliers (demand, margin, FBA suitability).
    • Assist with onboarding of new products: barcode checks, images, copy and categorisation etc.
  • Sales growth & maintenance
    • Execute basic promotions, price changes, coupons and deals.
    • Apply simple SEO hygiene (keywords, alt text) and on-page merchandising.
    • Pull weekly sales/inventory reports; flag wins, risks and quick fixes.
About you
  • Experience in ecommerce or retail operations (entry level welcome).
  • Comfortable with Amazon Seller Central and Shopify (basic knowledge is fine).
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • High attention to detail (barcodes, quantities, pricing) and solid time management.
  • Clear written English for product copy and customer messages.
  • Able to lift and handle cartons safely (up to ~15–20 kg) and stand during packing periods.
  • Can do, continuous improvement and learning attitude
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with FBA prep/labels and Amazon compliance.
  • Interest in health foods and supplements.
Measures of success (KPIs)
  • Fulfilment: On-time dispatch rate; order accuracy; return rate.
  • Stock health: % of top SKUs in stock; FBA in-stock rate; out-of-stock days per SKU.
  • Catalogue quality: Active SKUs; suppressed listings resolved; listing completeness score.
  • Sales: Weekly online sales growth vs prior period; attach rate/cross-sell performance.
  • Operations hygiene: PO cycle time; inventory variance; customer ticket resolution time.
