Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Ecology or related field.
• 1-2 years (Ecologist) or 2-5 years (Senior Ecologist) of environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with environmental assessments and biodiversity regulations (NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016).
• Flora and plant community identification skills.
• GIS proficiency (advanced preferred).
• Experience with biodiversity offsets and Federal/State survey methodologies.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Support field surveys and desktop ecological assessments.
• Assist in biodiversity assessments, offset strategies, and management plans meeting requirements.
• Support multiple projects, ensuring quality deliverables and deadlines.
• Engage with stakeholders, subcontractors, regulators, landowners, Indigenous communities, and clients.

What You’ll Do

As an Ecologist/Senior Ecologist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting biodiversity impact assessments and approvals under NSW State and Commonwealth jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and delivering field surveys and desktop ecological assessments.
• Assisting in the preparation of biodiversity assessments, offset strategies and management plans that meet federal and state requirements.
• Supporting multiple projects, ensuring quality deliverables, and meeting deadlines.
• Engaging with stakeholders, including subcontractors, regulatory agents, landowners, Indigenous communities, and clients.
• Building strong collaborations across ERM's global network of sustainability experts.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Ecology or related field.
• 1-2 years (Ecologist) or 2-5 years (Senior Ecologist) of environmental consulting experience.
