Job summary

WSP in Perth is seeking a passionate Botanist to join our national team of environmental specialists and work on multi-disciplinary infrastructure, renewable energy and local government projects.

You will undertake fieldwork, vegetation assessments and ecological reports to assist clients with environmental approvals and impact assessments, while developing your professional skills and contributing to project scopes and proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany or similar field.
• Consulting/advisory experience in ecological assessments in WA.
• Field surveys, vegetation surveys and threatened species knowledge.
• Familiarity with Commonwealth/State environmental legislation.
• Experience with field survey design, data collection and GIS mapping.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ecological surveys and vegetation assessments.
• Assist in project planning, timelines and budgets.
• Build relationships with colleagues and clients for proposals.
• Assess data and prepare ecological reports and vegetation data.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and professional society involvement.
