Job summary

Kleinfelder Australia is seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our Newcastle team, working on diverse ecology projects across NSW and beyond.

Reporting to the Ecology Team Leader, you will plan and conduct flora and fauna surveys, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to reports and BDAR/BSSAR submissions.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in environmental science (ecology) or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ of experience in environmental consulting.
• Experience conducting flora and fauna surveys in NSW.
• Experience with BAM vegetation plots and local flora knowledge.
• Experience delivering ecology projects across public and private sectors.
• Industry accreditation or active professional involvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct flora and fauna surveys to regulatory standards.
• Perform fieldwork safely, adhering to H&S and client procedures.
• Prepare reports and assessments, including BDARs/BSSARs.
• Assist project managers with tracking budgets and schedules.
• Participate in training to broaden skills.
