Animal Emergency Centre Kedron is seeking a seasoned Head Nurse for our busy ECC and general practice. You will lead a dedicated nurse team, support emergency clinicians, and foster a positive, collaborative culture.

Ideal candidates bring a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, 5+ years of vet nursing and ECC expertise, with strong communication and a willingness to mentor others. Weekend availability is advantageous in our 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a vet nurse.
• ECC nursing experience.
• Confidence in working within a busy hospital setting.
• Team building skills with previous experience leading and/or mentoring a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Availability to work every second weekend advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Managing a team of Emergency Vet Nurses.
• Supporting our busy Emergency Vet teams.
• Guiding and developing the Vet Nurse teams, building a positive team culture.
• Undertaking general nursing tasks, including pre and post-operative care, animal pathology and emergency and critical care.

Join a supportive and skilled team of Veterinarians and Vet Nurses at a busy, gold-accredited feline GP clinic and premier after-hours emergency centre.

At AEC & Greencross Kedron, we offer 24/7 emergency and general practice care, with a dedicated team of emergency veterinarians and nurses. Our hospital is known for its high professional and clinical standards, paired with genuine care and compassion for both patients and their owners.

We pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated team, and patient-centered approach. We’re looking for a motivated, experienced nurse with a strong background in leadership and emergency care to work closely with the Business Manager, Veterinary Director, GP Head Nurse and GP Veterinary Team Leader.

What you’ll be doing each day;

• Managing a team of Emergency Vet Nurses
• Supporting our busy Emergency Vet teams
