About The Role

We are currently seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the Pellet Plant Maintenance Team. You will have support and autonomy in executing breakdown and preventative maintenance on site. This role offers stability, security, long-term career opportunities, and genuine progression with a great roster, providing plenty of time to enjoy the Whyalla lifestyle.

This is a 12-hour day shift role – Tuesday to Thursday one week and Tuesday to Friday the following week.

Key Responsibilities Include
  1. Maintaining assets across the Pellet Plant, focusing on planned work, unplanned breakdown repair or service work, troubleshooting, and improving plant reliability.
  2. Undertaking diagnostics and preventative inspections according to maintenance plans and completing follow-up actions.
  3. Performing confined space and working at heights activities.
  4. Working autonomously, being reliable, and positively contributing to the maintenance team while maintaining assets in a safe and reliable condition.
  5. Identifying defects and providing feedback on asset performance and health.
Skills And Experience Required
  1. Trade qualified – Fitter/Machinist with Cert 3 Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent.
  2. Forklift and telehandler tickets.
  3. Elevated work platform license; working at heights, dogging, and rigging are highly regarded.
  4. Driver’s license.
  5. Hands-on experience using SAP is beneficial.
  6. Knowledge and experience in hydraulic systems are desirable.
  7. A proven history of fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on various plant.
  8. Heavy industry experience in fixed plant maintenance is highly regarded.
  9. A strong safety-focused attitude.
