Job summary

The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions VIC – Bairnsdale is seeking a Regional Development Coordinator to deliver place-based programs that support liveability and prosperity in East Gippsland. Reporting to the Manager, Regional Development East Gippsland, you will manage stakeholders, develop plans and drive investment initiatives across the region.

You will build partnerships with government, business and communities, manage projects and travel as required.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in business, economics and/or project management would be well regarded.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in economic, industry, business or regional development is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated investment in place by understanding, influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders and partners, developing and maintaining strategic relationships.
• Lead investment attraction, economic development and delivery of regional initiatives across the region, leveraging regional economies, workforce, geography and transport links.
• Manage and support a portfolio of stakeholders by promoting, delivering and managing development initiatives in alignment with KPIs.
• Maintain strategic links with program areas, facilitate grant and milestone management, monitor grant recipient performance, and support cohesive grant delivery.
• Prepare authoritative, high-quality correspondence, reports, submissions, and briefings with clear recommendations reflecting government priorities.
