Job summary

We Do Social Work in Sydney, NSW, AU is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join a Children’s Centre team within the Early Years service. The role focuses on delivering high-quality early years provision and supporting young children’s learning, communication, confidence and social skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant Early Years / Education qualification.
• Experience working with children in an early years, nursery, children's centre or similar setting.
• Good understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Experience of planning and delivering age-appropriate activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality early years education, care and developmental support to young children.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
• Encourage language, communication, physical development and early learning skills.
• Observe and assess children's progress and contribute to appropriate learning and development plans.
• Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive and welcoming environment for children.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals within Children's Centres and Early Years services.
• Identify and respond appropriately to children's individual needs.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the setting.
• Maintain accurate records in line with service requirements.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and child protection procedures at all times.
• Contribute to partnership working and early intervention approaches supporting children and families.
