Job summary

Burwood Council is seeking a dedicated labouring/waste collection role to maintain streets and public areas in the Burwood community. You will join a team performing outdoor cleaning tasks, illegal dumping removal, bulky item collection, and bin maintenance.

The role requires a White Card, a current C-Class driver's licence, and willingness to operate street cleaning equipment. Availability for out-of-hours work and weekends is essential for this position, with local government experience

Qualifications

• White Card (General Construction Induction) required.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Experience operating waste collection or street cleaning equipment or willingness to learn.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
• Sufficient literacy and numeracy to understand worksites and maps.
• Availability to work out of hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining streets and public spaces by removing illegal dumping and bulky items.
• Operate litter pickers, handheld blowers, brooms, brushes and vacuum attachments.
• Drive C-Class vehicles and tow equipment in line with NSW Road Rules and safety plans.
• Carry out routine maintenance of vehicles, including fueling checks and daily inspections.
