Job description

Ambrose is a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering high-quality Early Years Learning and School Age Care across Catholic schools in Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. With over 50 services and 550+ employees, we are expanding with a new extended hours early learning centre in Greystanes to run alongside our existing community-based preschool.

We are seeking an experienced Early Learning Director to lead our dual-model service at Our Lady Queen of Peace. This leadership role will oversee both our well established 23-place community based Preschool and our brand new 50-place extended hours service, opening in January 2026. These two services will operate cohesively, delivering a high quality preschool program to families across both settings. Based in Greystanes, the Director will be responsible for day-to-day operations, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement across the early learning services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong partnerships with families, schools, and the community
  • Lead policy implementation and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement and pedagogical excellence
  • Oversee curriculum aligned with the EYLF and tailored to each child’s development
  • Mentor and develop educators to meet qualification and performance standards
  • Ensure health, hygiene, and food safety practices are upheld
  • Maintain WH&S standards including risk assessments and emergency drills
  • Act as the primary contact for families, principals, and stakeholders

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelors in early childhood education
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Approved Child Protection Training Certificate
  • First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis Certification

Experience & Skills

  • Proven leadership in early childhood education
  • Strong knowledge of pedagogical leadership and EYLF
  • Experience managing teams and achieving service targets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Commitment to child protection and WH&S compliance
