Job summary

The Department of Education in Victoria is seeking an Early Childhood Funding Advisor (0.6 FTE) on a fixed‑term basis to support the delivery of departmental programs and initiatives across the Hume Merri-bek area.

The role supports funded early childhood services by guiding program delivery, coordinating data collection, and processing funding and service agreements in line with program rules within the Early Childhood Improvement Branch, contributing to better outcomes for children.

The Program Officer supports the delivery of departmental programs and initiatives by providing guidance and strategic support throughout the program lifecycle, while ensuring alignment with objectives in the local work areas.

About the Role

Early Childhood Funding Advisor, 0.6 FTE Fixed term 30/6/2027

Join a collaborative high functioning branch in the Hume Merri-bek Area. The Early Childhood Funding Advisor is a program support role within the Early Childhood Improvement Branch that works closely with funded early childhood services and the broader regional staff.

The position will be required to:

• Work closely with sector providers to strengthen service delivery and support Best Start, Best Life reforms
• Coordinate and collect data for program areas and maintain accurate records for early childhood services
• Process funding and service agreement activities in accordance with the relevant program business rules and using a variety of business system

The role will suit an individual with strong communication, customer focus, planning, organisational and advanced computer skills. You will have the ability to learn and develop knowledge of the early childhood sector and work as part of an area-based team focused of delivering improved outcomes for children.

Our branch works across on a range of projects and reform areas to build the capabilities of early childhood providers in our area, the local government areas of Hume and Merri-bek.
