Job summary

SEEK is seeking an experienced CHEF for an Early Childhood Education centre to plan, prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals for children across the day. You will ensure meals meet the centre's weekly menu and nutritional requirements while maintaining a clean, compliant kitchen.

You will manage allergies and dietary needs, follow NSW Food Authority standards, and support lunch periods by working with educators to deliver safe, healthy meals for every child.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or Diploma required to work with children when applicable.
• Experience as a Chef in Early Childhood Education or related settings.
• Strong food safety and allergen management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook nutritious, fresh and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children.
• Prepare daily meals according to the centre’s approved weekly menu and nutritional requirements.
• Cater for allergies, intolerances and dietary needs; manage cross-contamination controls.
• Maintain allergen management records and ensure correct labelling and storage.
• Follow Food Safety Standards and NSW Food Authority requirements.
• Ensure meals are served to the correct rooms/children and kitchens remain clean.
• Assist with lunch/mealtime cover and general centre support when needed.
