Job summary

St John's Catholic Primary School in Dubbo seeks an EALD Teacher to provide targeted English language support to K-6 students, working 0.8 FTE in a collaborative, faith-centered team.

The successful candidate will design differentiated EALD programs, assess progress with NSW frameworks and engage families to support learning within a inclusive Catholic environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current evidence-based EALD pedagogy and English language learning approaches.
• Ability to assess English proficiency and use data to inform teaching and report on student progress.
• Capacity to design differentiated EALD programs and personalised learning plans.
• Capacity to collaborate with teachers and specialists, share EALD strategies and contribute to professional learning teams.
• Commitment to Catholic education and to gaining and maintaining appropriate accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Valuing students' first languages and cultural identities in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative EALD Teacher to join the supportive team at St John's CPS, Dubbo. The role provides targeted English language support to students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds, enabling them to participate fully in learning.

• Providing targeted English language instruction across listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Assessing and monitoring English proficiency using the EALD Learning Progression and ESL Scales.
