Kirk's is a unique wine bar in the heart of the CBD offering lunch & dinner 6 days a week with an extensive selection of wine from some of the great producers and new talents in Australia and the Old World. Next door is Kirk's Public Bar with a great selection of craft beer on tap and soon to be opened will be a new wine retail store.

We have an opportunity for a casual front of house supervisor to join our team who has strong wine knowledge and a desire to make a long-term commitment to developing their career.

Ideally, you will have 2 - 3 years experience as a supervisor in a fast-paced restaurant, quality cafe or wine bar environment and hold a WSET 2 or Court of Master Sommeliers Certification (preferred but not essential).

This is a Hands-on role that is responsible for the day-to-day running of the restaurant, including:

  1. Opening and closing the venue
  2. Monitoring emails and TILL Reconciliation
  3. Developing close relationships with both our guests and colleagues
  4. Supervise staff and manage their performance
  5. Ensure the smooth running of service, supporting the floor and kitchen staff
  6. Brief staff pre-service on new food & beverage items & list changes
  7. Assist the manager with FOH rostering and staff training
  8. Work closely with head sommelier to ensure the wine list is stocked, balanced, and interesting
