About the Faculty and Discipline
TheFaculty of Health Sciences and Medicine is committed to shaping professionals distinguished by their superior scientific and clinical skills, as well as their ethics, compassion and humanity. Programs are offered in a range of scientific and health disciplines, including Medicine, Biomedical Science, Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Healthcare Innovations, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Each of these disciplines is underpinned by an active research program and the Faculty hosts a number of major research centres including the internationally renownedInstitute for Evidence-Based Healthcare . The Faculty has recently established theBond University Health and Wellness Clinic , an interdisciplinary and holistic Allied Health Service to provide accessible and valuable care to the community.
The Faculty is establishing a new Discipline of Speech Pathology in order to contribute to the Speech Pathology profession through an innovative program that would emphasise skills for both public and private practice; the program will also have a strong research component. The program would be synergistic with the existing Allied Health disciplines, expand our scope for interprofessional learning and research and also contribute to the range of services available at the Bond University Health and Wellness Clinic. The intent is to offer a Master of Speech Pathology extended AQF Level 9 program accredited by Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) for professional recognition as a Speech Pathologist.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to shape a new discipline within Bond University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine and make a lasting impact on the Speech Pathology profession and workforce. The Professor/Associate Professor of Speech Pathology is a senior leadership role, responsible for establishing and developing the Speech Pathology discipline and leading the Master of Speech Pathology and Professional Doctorate programs. This position is offered on a continuing basis and includes a 5-year appointment as Foundation Head of Speech Pathology.
The role provides strategic leadership in curriculum development, accreditation, and academic staffing, ensuring alignment with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) standards. Working closely with the Executive Dean and Faculty leadership, the position will recruit and mentor academic staff, foster industry partnerships, and oversee marketing and resource procurement for the successful delivery of the programs. In keeping with a senior academic position, the role is expected to drive research in Speech Pathology, securing funding, mentoring research students, and contributing at both national and international levels.

Salary details
Level and salary will be negotiated and commensurate with skills and experience and be fully competitive in the Australian market.Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
