We are looking for a positive, hardworking individual excited about working on vessel decks. This casual position based in Port Kembla, NSW, requires flexibility for short-notice relief. Preference will be given to candidates residing within two hours of the port or willing to relocate at their own expense.

What You Can Expect

Working in Port Kembla offers diverse maritime experiences in a key Australian industrial hub, including shipping and logistics operations that will enhance your maritime skills.

Responsibilities
  • Securing and releasing lines for vessel mooring and unmooring
  • Maintaining vessels, equipment, firefighting and environmental protection gear, and store facilities
  • Handling stores and equipment
  • Adhering to policies, procedures, and statutory obligations, including quality and ISM standards
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
  • Participating in operational improvements and liaising with management
Qualifications
  • Minimum General Purpose Hand Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or higher
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Valid AMSA Medical Certificate
  • MSIC or 'Job Ready' MSIC Application (or ability to obtain)
  • Interest in towage industry and willingness to develop skills
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve
  • Right to live and work in Australia
