  • Salary Level HEW 10A ($146,280 + 17% Superannuation) and Flexible Working Arrangements

Senior Manager, Wellbeing and Psychosocial Safety


As the Senior Manager of Wellbeing and Psychosocial Safety at RMIT, you'll lead a small, highly dedicated team of wellbeing specialists who are deeply committed to creating positive change. Together, you will define and drive our Mental Wellbeing Strategic Action Plan while developing and implementing RMIT's comprehensive framework for assessing and managing psychosocial risk. You will work across RMIT to design and implement meaningful initiatives that foster a psychologically safe workplace and enable wellbeing across our diverse community.

As well as providing strategic leadership and projects, you'll oversee essential support services including:

  • Psychosocial risk advisory services
  • Wellbeing programs
  • Suicide prevention and postvention initiatives
  • Employee assistance program management

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Expertise in Wellbeing and Psychosocial Risk: Proven experience in developing and implementing mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention strategies, with strong knowledge of psychosocial risk frameworks and relevant legislation.
  • Strategic Vision: Deep understanding of existing and emerging legislation, regulations, and trends in wellbeing, mental health, and psychosocial safety and the ability to apply this knowledge to develop meaningful strategies and initiatives and programs to support staff wellbeing.
  • Leadership and Program Delivery: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex programs on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong relationship-building skills with a proven track record of effective collaboration across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Communication and Reporting: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, and presentations.
  • Crisis and Case Management: Experience supporting staff in high-pressure or crisis scenarios, including managing complex wellbeing cases and applying intervention frameworks.
