Location: Fitness and Health Pavilion Montgomery, hours as needed, will consider 16-17 yr old with work permit.
Provide quality swim instruction for children and/or adults in a group setting (3 or more participants). Able to modify teaching styles to the age, experience and ability of the customer. Listen and respond to feedback from client's parents/clients to assure the lesson is meeting the customers needs.
Job Requirements:
- 2 years High School Education
- American Red Cross First Aid Certified
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- 1 year+ experience preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops individual swimming instruction recommendations based on members' goals and physical abilities.
- Administers and interprets American Red Cross Group Swim Lesson materials as needed.
- Promotes safety of pool area, needed rescue/prevention of accidents and injuries.
- Informs management of safety hazards as they may arise.
- Communicates with management staff regarding problems and concerns of members and participates in record keeping of the department.
- Actively motivates and assists members with their swimming proficiency and overall swimming goals.
- Exhibits flexibility with work schedule. Picks up extra time to meet department needs. Changes assignments if needed.
- Creates a positive work environment, regularly assists coworkers, gives positive feedback when appropriate, and acts as a mentor to new employees/students.
- Creates positive work environment and establishes relationships with key patients/customers, physicians, departments, and staff.
- Maintain a clean pool environment; Team participation and member interaction are also a must.
