Berkeley Vale, New South Wales, Australia.
The Role
They are seeking a full time Engineering Technologist to join their team in Berkeley Vale, New South Wales. The ideal candidate will support engineering projects by applying technical knowledge and engineering principles to design, develop, and implement solutions. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
This is for a full time position at an annual salary between $90,000 to $105,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
- Assist in product design and development using CAD software to prepare models and technical drawings
- Design end-to-end ERP system architecture tailored to manufacturing needs, integrating real-time production data with operational workflows.
- Perform source-level customizations in Odoo ERP using Python, JS, OWL and XML, aligned with process engineering requirements
- Integrate industrial machinery, barcode systems, and IoT devices with backend software for automated and accurate data flows.
- System performance testing, regression testing on ERP upgrades, and prototype validation for custom modules and software tools.
- Leading the implementation of a 3D Configurator tool for customers to visualize and configure products in real-time.
- Designed and deployed a centralized wiki system and internal knowledgebase for enhanced team collaboration.
- Prepare detailed documentation including manufacturing instructions and product specifications
- Design and maintain the company's server infrastructure using DevOps techniques such as automated deployment, containerization (Docker), and continuous integration to improve system uptime and productivity.
- Supervise the delivery of web platforms, mobile apps, ERP modules, and databases that directly contribute to business growth and operational efficiency
- Ensure designs and processes comply with relevant Australian and international standards
- Establish documentation protocols, quality checklists, and compliance standards for software development and deployment processes.
- Work alongside mechanical and production engineers to translate manual workflows into automated ERP processes.
- Communicate technical requirements to suppliers and assist in resolving production challenges
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into the manufacturing environment
- Supervise project delivery across multiple teams (development, design, operations) while maintaining quality, timelines, and alignment with business goals
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar field.
- At least 3 years experience in manufacturing tech projects.
- Solid understanding of industrial integration (hardware-software) and production workflows.
- At least 3 years' experience in Python (Odoo), JS OWL, QWEB and XML. Hands on DevOps is a plus point.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in preparing technical documentation for compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
