About the role
Townsville Catholic Education is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing and Communications Coordinator. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing on Monday, 30 June 2025.
The Senior Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be part of the Marketing and Communication team, providing strategic advice on brand, marketing, and communications initiatives. The role involves coordinating campaign execution and refinement, working closely with Principals, school leaders, and the Catholic Diocese of Townsville to ensure alignment with system goals and local contexts.
Key Accountabilities include
- Providing advice and managing the development of brand, marketing, and communications strategies.
- Proactively liaising with stakeholders to understand school needs and develop aligned marketing plans that reflect strategic pillars and the Catholic ethos.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop brand, marketing, and communication strategies.
- Leading creative and operational support to schools for executing marketing plans and communications, including brand development, graphic design, multimedia, and content creation, managing external vendors as needed.
- Managing communication projects and activities, including developing project plans, budgets, and evaluation metrics.
- Maintaining relationships with media, agencies, and suppliers to enhance brand awareness and media opportunities.
- Staying informed on best practices and regulatory requirements related to marketing, privacy, copyright, and protocols, acting as a liaison between TCE and relevant bodies.
- Managing capacity-building initiatives and mentoring school staff in professional development.
- Identifying risks to school reputation and market share, coordinating stakeholder engagement for mitigation strategies.
- Providing media and public relations support, including operational responses to opportunities.
- Ensuring the planning and delivery of major events and promotional campaigns are on time and within budget.
- Leading the team in providing expert advice on school brand and campaign planning.
- Mentoring team members and school-based marketing contacts.
About you
- Significant experience in an advisory role within a complex organization.
- Proven ability to develop marketing plans, manage budgets, timelines, risks, and stakeholders to achieve objectives such as increased enrolments and reputation management.
- Experience coaching and mentoring school staff in marketing and communication activities.
- Skills in media management, social media, video production, photography, and digital media tracking systems.
- Knowledge of graphic design, printing processes, and advertising resources.
- Experience working on planning/steering committees.
- Understanding of the Australian P-12 education market, especially in North Queensland, and the Catholic Education sector's role within it.
- Ability to coordinate internal and external resources effectively.
- Strong project management skills, including delivering campaigns on time and within budget.
- Excellent copywriting and multimedia content development skills, with the ability to guide third-party providers.
- A customer-centric approach with tailored plans for clients' specific contexts and challenges.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Conflict resolution skills and resilience in managing stress.
- Professional, flexible, and caring work manner.
- Creative and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card).
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Business, Commerce, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications).
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Willingness to travel within the Diocese as required.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the role safely.
