About The Role

We’re seeking qualified and experienced Mental Health Registered nurses with proven experience in short term, solutions-orientated interventions to join our growing national workforce of EAP consultants.

In this role you will be proactively providing in-person short term, solutions focussed counselling or coaching and manage cases within agreed timeframes and service standards.

We Are Looking For Individuals Who

  • Have experience providing high-quality counselling and crisis response support
  • Enjoy working with diverse workplaces to assess work stressors and risk factors in work environments
  • Have a solid understanding of organisational and individual factors impacting on people performance
  • Be commercially savvy, with the ability to view issues and problems from a business, customer and personal perspective
  • You will be self-motivated, with excellent time management skills and have a willingness to demonstrate initiative with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Are caring, compassionate and driven to make a positive difference in people's lives
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and across multiple customer locations
  • Are self-motivated and can respond quickly to situations
  • Are knowledgeable, proactive, quick thinking

About You

  • Have been practising as a registered nurse in the area of mental health within the last 3 years
  • Hold a current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia PLUS be a credentialed mental health nurse (refer to requirements below)
  • Provision of counselling therapy using methodologies of CBT, ACT and motivational interviewing
  • Crisis support and management of suicide risk and duty of care
  • Ability to provide psychoeducation about mental health maintenance and restoration
  • Working in community or hospital based mental health programs involving one on one counselling support plus experience in equivalent of onsite walk the floor.
  • Must have completed 1 of 2 options below:
  • Pathway 1 - a postgraduate diploma OR a master in mental health nursing
  • Pathway 2 - a graduate certificate in mental health nursing including an additional complementary mental health practice and/or a specialised graduate certificate.
