Job description

$91,586 per annum (LGIA Stream B Major Venues Level 4 + 30%) + Superannuation

Location – Rockhampton

Your new role

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a talented Senior Production Technician with expertise in staging and theatre mechanics to join our team.

In this role, you’ll support a variety of live events, performances, and exhibitions, working across Rockhampton’s premier venues. You will provide advanced staging and technical services for our theatres, galleries, and cultural events. Participate in event bump-ins and bump-outs, and ensure all equipment is operated and maintained to the highest industry standards.

Enjoy a 76-hour fortnight on a roster system, with opportunities for overtime and the ability to accrue TOIL. This position offers a strong work-life balance and the chance to contribute to delivering high-quality cultural and community events. As part of this dynamic team, you will also have opportunities for professional growth and cross-discipline support.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria
  • Tertiary qualification in Theatre & Events (or equivalent demonstrated industry qualification) and significant experience within a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, and supervise the use of advanced technical and staging equipment within performance and exhibition venues.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to lead and supervise teams to ensure event requirements are delivered within required timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and teams across the organisation to achieve common goals and drive successful outcomes.
