Senior Accountant - Remote (Primary Production Clients)

MW Recruitment is partnering with a long-standing firm with deep roots in Queensland. With a 40-year history, this dynamic and respected accounting and advisory firm is headquartered in Rockhampton, with two other offices across QLD.

The firm employs over 30 professionals and five directors, offering a holistic suite of services including taxation, business advisory, finance, and superannuation. They pride themselves on tailored, relationship-focused service, reflected in their many long-standing, repeat clients.

This firm services small to medium enterprises, with particular expertise in the primary production sector.

The Role

Due to ongoing growth, they seek an experienced senior accountant to assist with compliance across several groups and provide advisory services. It is essential that the candidate has a well-known understanding of primary production clients, as this comprises about 80% of the client portfolio.

As a Senior Business Services & Taxation Accountant, you will:

1. Prepare financial statements and tax returns for various entities (excluding SMSFs).
2. Assist in managing a client portfolio.
3. Provide tax planning and advice across various industries.
4. Collaborate with Partners and Managers.

What We’re Looking For

To be a great fit, you should have:

• 3-5+ years of experience in an Australian accounting firm.
• Completed CA/CPA program (or in progress).
• Significant experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns.
• Knowledge of Division 7A, FBT, and CGT.
• Advisory experience, client management, and mentorship of junior staff.
