Qualifications

Job description

ShedEx is an industry leader in the design and construction of domestic and commercial Sheds, Carports, and Patios. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and workmanship, delivering the highest standards of projects. Based in Townsville, ShedEx is a family-run business supplying and building thousands of steel projects across North Queensland. Due to business growth, we are seeking a reliable, experienced Leading Hand Shed Builder to join our team as we expand.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the role involves working Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends, away work, and overtime. We are looking for a motivated, reliable, punctual, and professional individual.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and perform all shed erecting duties for portal frame kit sheds, including steel erection, cladding, roofing, walls, and installation of windows, access doors, roof vents, and insulation.
  2. Operate power and hand tools safely.
  3. Operate Elevated Work Platform (EWP) safely.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  5. Supervise other shed builders and apprentices, if applicable.
  6. Read and interpret plans, drawings, and engineering documents.
  7. Ensure custom flashings are ordered and in working condition.
  8. Work effectively in a team environment and autonomously.
  9. Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications and Licences
  1. General Construction Induction Course (White/Blue Card).
  2. Driver’s Licence.
  3. Working at Heights (Preferred).
  4. Elevated Work Platform (Preferred).
  5. Certificate III in a building trade such as roof plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal, etc. (Preferred).
