Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic Maintenance and Utilities – Maintenance Services Team working the afternoon shift.

The department provides essential engineering and maintenance support services on the CSL Behring Broadmeadows site. You'll lead and inspire the Mechanical trades team, collaborating with Operations staff, Electrical & Instrumentation, System Owner Group, Planning & Support Group, and Quality to ensure our plant and equipment operate reliably.

This is an ongoing role working in our afternoon shift (14:30-22:21).

The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Maintenance Services Mechanical & Refrigeration, your responsibilities will include:

1. Providing leadership and supervision for Mechanical Technicians; managing maintenance activities during facility shutdown periods.
2. Ensuring preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently.
3. Investigating process, plant, and equipment failures, determining the cause of failure, and developing permanent solutions.
4. Providing technical advice in manufacturing facilities on-site.
5. Developing close working relationships with personnel in Operations, Electrical & Instrumentation, System Owner Group, Planning & Support Group, and Quality.
6. Maintaining training and documentation relevant to the mechanical team.
7. Providing maintenance and engineering solutions to improve plant and equipment reliability.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar maintenance engineering position.
• Experience in a GMP Pharmaceutical environment is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in Food and Beverage, Chemical manufacturing, or other regulated batch manufacturing will also be strongly considered.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of maintenance systems (ideally RCM, 5S, and TPM) and familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
