Job description

Employee Benefits + Discounted Financial Products

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role at BOQ Group? As the Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk - People & Culture (P&C) and Group Risk, you will be at the heart of our risk management activities within the first line of defence. This role is all about supporting the Head of Line 1 Risk, Group Functions, and driving a proactive risk culture across our division.

You will play a crucial part in enhancing our ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring that our risk management frameworks and strategies are seamlessly integrated into our business operations. Your efforts will strengthen our control environment, improve our risk position, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Additionally, you will promote innovative risk management solutions that align with BOQ's strategic direction and growth objectives. This role involves close collaboration with various internal teams, including leadership teams, heads of business units, Group Risk, Group Compliance, and Internal Audit, as well as external regulatory bodies and auditors.

About you

We are looking for someone with a strong background in risk management, ideally within the P&C and/or Group Risk landscape and in a leadership position, leading Risk Specialist teams.

You’ll join us with a proven track record of supporting the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, particularly within the financial services industry with a focus on P&C and/or Group Risk. Your ability to provide pragmatic risk advice, deliver risk insights, and support the business in reducing complexity and risk will be key to your success. You describe yourself as adept at managing and advising on risk management strategies, frameworks, and standards, ensuring risks, obligations, and control designs are accurate and meet our requirements.

This role will also involve delivering risk governance activities, including the development of key risk indicators and Line 1 Risk reporting to the Finance Risk Committee—specifically for the P&C and Group Risk Divisions. We value strong logical reasoning skills, attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Working for us is fast-paced and engaging. BOQ Group people are smart, energetic, full of ideas, and passionate about their work. Join us and be part of a team dedicated to excellence in risk management and strategic growth.
