Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Functions as a skilled-level technician capable of diagnosing and repairing vehicles, with specialization in specific repair areas. Essential duties include:

  1. Performing work efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
  2. Diagnosing malfunctions and performing repairs.
  3. Communicating with parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  4. Saving and tagging parts for warranty or customer requests.
  5. Examining vehicles for safety or additional service needs.
  6. Communicating with service advisors about additional work or delays.
  7. Documenting all work on repair orders.
  8. Road testing vehicles or referring to test technicians.
  9. Participating in manufacturer training and staying updated on technical bulletins.
  10. Supervising apprentice technicians as assigned.
  11. Reporting machinery issues to management.
  12. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and notifying service advisors of any changes.
  13. Keeping the shop area tidy and ensuring tools and manuals are maintained and returned properly.
  14. Complying with safety and environmental regulations.
  15. Operating tools and equipment safely and reporting safety concerns.
