Job description

About us:

Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1030 male Prisoners within CCC and CCF.

The CCC receives and transitions Prisoners on release from and to geographical locations north to Mackay; south to Gladstone, east to Capricorn Coast; and west to Central Highlands. COHS provides clinical services within the correctional centre, which is unique to other clinical services, in that, COHS provides services within a structured day and security function of the correctional centre.

About the role:

The Administration Officer is required to work within and support a team that provides quality administrative support services within the COHS. The role is required to work across both services of COHS, the main health centre and the health and wellbeing team by providing administrative functions to support clinical staff through scheduling of clinics, records management, referral and appointment coordination, and ordering of clinical and non-clinical supplies.

This service includes the coordination of health information, data reporting and use of health technology. Furthermore, the role will provide confidential administrative, secretariat, and support to the COHS team.

About you:

  • While not mandatory, a Diploma or Certificate IV in Business and or Health Administration or equivalent will be well regarded.
  • Appropriate computer skills with excellent working knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite, such as Word, Excel and Teams concepts.
  • Ability to plan, meet deadlines and prioritised workloads whilst working autonomously and with other team members.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $4,882 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $38.81 - $43.16 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
