Community Occupational Therapist (NDIS) Hobart

Are you looking to make a meaningful contribution?

We are seeking an experienced Community Occupational Therapist to work broadly with participants living with permanent and significant disabilities under the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).

You will assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) to help them lead empowered, independent lives, increase safe community participation, and achieve their NDIS plan goals.

The successful candidate will use their specialist knowledge to provide assessments, independent living skills training, intervention strategies, and reports for clients, carers, and families.

You will:
  • Assess NDIS participants’ capacity and develop tailored interventions
  • Provide functional capacity assessments and progress reports
  • Utilise standardised assessment tools and occupational therapy interventions
  • Complete NDIS-specific requirements, including NDIA reports and Service Agreements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NDIS systems and practices
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, families, and providers

What you will bring:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution and OT Association membership eligibility
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Commitment to CPD aligned with Australian standards
  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Excellent communication, IT skills, and time management
  • Understanding of the NDIS framework
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to travel interstate as needed
  • Ability to pass NDIS Worker Screening, police check, and Working with Children Check
  • Full Australian working rights
