Job description

The Country HR Officer (CHRO) manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing the functional strategy in the area managed. Defines approach to implementing the strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation, and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). The impact reflects the size of the team managed, strategic influence on the business, and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget, and planning, such as performance evaluations, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approval. May be involved in or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically reports directly to a C16 role and functions as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides a broad range of HR consulting services to client groups within organizations in a specific country, including staffing, talent management, compensation, organization effectiveness, employee engagement, and change management to support ongoing transformation.
  • Applies HR expertise to lead resolution of key issues impacting business segments or functional areas.
  • Consults with leadership to leverage resources for efficient delivery of HR strategies and plans.
  • Partners with regional HR and business leaders to assess and define strategies, organization structures, and role designs for business groups.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates initiatives to enhance organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place to meet strategic needs.
  • Collaborates with revenue areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and control.
  • Assesses risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding the firm's reputation, and maintaining high ethical standards, including managing control issues transparently and supervising team activities.


Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years in managerial roles.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, along with managerial experience.
