Job summary

Global Group is seeking experienced E&I Construction Technicians / Hazardous Areas Electricians for the Upstream Devex project. The role involves hands-on electrical and instrumentation construction, testing, pre-commissioning and safe project delivery on a 2:2 FIFO roster from Brisbane or Adelaide.

You will install and terminate instrumentation, calibrate, interpret drawings and work with a team to meet project standards. FIFO flexibility and Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Australian Electrical Licence.
• Current Hazardous Areas (EEHA/HA) qualification.
• Experience in E&I construction within oil & gas, energy, mining or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation, termination and testing.
• Experience with instrument calibration, loop checking, functional testing and pre‑commissioning.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, cable schedules and construction documentation.
• Current White Card and Driver’s Licence.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical and instrumentation construction works, including cable installation, glanding, termination and equipment installation.
• Installing and terminating field instrumentation, control devices, junction boxes, panels and associated equipment.
• Performing instrument calibration, loop checks, functional testing and pre‑commissioning activities.
• Installing hazardous area electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Interpreting electrical schematics, loop diagrams, P&IDs, cable schedules, termination drawings and construction work packs.
• Completing construction testing, QA documentation, inspection records and project handover documentation.
• Identifying and rectifying installation issues during construction and commissioning activities.
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and other trades to deliver project scopes safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring all construction activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, site procedures, permits and applicable standards.

About The Role

We’re growing our project team and are seeking experienced E&I Construction Technicians / Hazardous Areas Electricians to support delivery of the Upstream Devex Project. Working a 2:2 FIFO roster, you’ll undertake hands‑on electrical and instrumentation construction works across an industrial project environment, with a strong focus on installation, testing, pre‑commissioning and safe project delivery. This is an opportunity to join a high‑performing team delivering critical energy infrastructure, working alongside experienced supervisors, engineers and trades within a safety‑focused project environment.

• Carrying out electrical and instrumentation construction works, including cable installation, glanding, termination and equipment installation.

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
