Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced E&I Project Coordinator for a FIFO role at Cape Lambert. The role supports safe, efficient project delivery on site, coordinating electrical and instrumentation works with multiple contractors and site teams.

You will partner with Construction Leads and Project Engineers, ensuring QA/QC, schedule integrity and adherence to HSEQ standards across brownfield industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating construction or capital projects in mining, resources or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Exposure to multidisciplinary works including electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, structural, civil, piping and building projects.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage project implementation on site.
• Oversee multiple contractors and site teams for seamless execution.
• Support Construction Leads and Project Engineers with contractor performance, reporting, cost, schedule and safety outcomes.
• Ensure construction activities comply with site standards, HSEQ requirements and management systems.
• Monitor progress, identify schedule impacts and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout project delivery.
• Support QA/QC activities including inspections and verification processes.
• Assist in developing punch lists and preparing for commissioning.
• Liaise with contractors and operations during commissioning and handover.
• Verify contractor timesheets and daily work records.
• Prepare daily site reports, handover notes and project updates.
• Participate in operational and shutdown coordination meetings.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced E&I Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of a project at Cape Lambert. This is a FIFO opportunity offering an 8:6 roster, working alongside project and construction teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage project implementation activities on site.
• Oversee multiple contractors and site teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support Construction Leads and Project Engineers with contractor performance, reporting, cost, quality, schedule, and safety outcomes.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with site standards, policies, HSEQ requirements, and management systems.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout project delivery.
• Support QA/QC activities, including inspections, verification processes, and compliance with specifications.
• Assist in developing punch lists and preparing for commissioning activities.
• Liaise with contractors and operations teams during commissioning and handover phases.
• Verify contractor timesheets and daily work records.
• Prepare daily site reports, handover notes, and project updates.
• Participate in operational and shutdown coordination meetings as required.

About You

• Demonstrated experience coordinating construction or capital projects within mining, resources, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary works including electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, structural, civil, piping, and building projects.
• Exposure to brownfield construction environments.
• Sound understanding of project delivery, contractor management, and site coordination.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Previous experience with Rio Tinto project delivery systems and processes will be highly regarded.
