Job summary

Francis Greenway High School seeks a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs under teacher supervision. You will aid in welfare, health and wellbeing activities and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

The role includes work across streams such as vision/hearing support and bilingual settings, with progression based on student needs and school requirements.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance.
• Mandatory training by the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to the role.
• Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
• Awareness of the needs of students with such disabilities.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher to support educational outcomes.
• Support student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Provide specific support for students in streams/settings: pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual, with additional duties as needed.
