Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney is seeking an experienced interview producer to join the editorial team, lining up key interviews with newsmakers and contributing story ideas for TV and digital platforms.

You will coordinate guest bookings for the News Channel, work under the Supervising Producer, Interviews, research and plan interviews, write briefs, and help plan cross‑platform coverage while building strong contacts across the Australian community.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent skills.
• Proven ability to source and maintain contacts across the broader Australian community.
• Accomplished ability to research and plan interviews as well as book guests and conduct pre-interviews.
• Excellent ability to write news copy, interview briefs and generate dynamic ideas for enhancing News coverage.
• Accomplished organisational and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Experience with desktop editing and the ability to rapidly acquire the technical skills required for TV news production.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and book interviews and guests for News Channel’s continuous coverage, from one-on-one to panel discussions.
• Coordinate guest bookings and interviews to be broadcast on the ABC News Channel and digital platforms.
• Assist in coordinating studio and satellite bookings across ABC in collaboration with International and Planning desks.
• Generate, suggest and develop story ideas for television and digital, engaging a multi‑platform audience.
• Liaise with colleagues across ABC to plan and produce content of common interest.
• Monitor a wide range of media outlets to understand current events and issues.
• Generate stories that reflect the diversity of Australians.
