Job summary

SA Health’s Ashton House in Oakden (NALHN) is seeking an AHP1 Occupational Therapist for a 0.8FTE, temporary contract. You will assess and treat forensic mental health consumers, delivering individual and group programs to support functional recovery and community participation.

Join a multidisciplinary team within the Forensic Mental Health division and contribute to discharge planning and transition pathways back to the community.

Qualifications

• Eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• Interest or experience in forensic mental health settings.
• Ability to work in a 0.8 FTE, temporary contract arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop goal-directed intervention plans for forensic mental health consumers.
• Deliver individual and group-based therapeutic programs focusing on functional recovery and community participation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, nursing, psychology and social work.
• Contribute to discharge planning and supported transition pathways for consumers returning to the community.
