Job summary

PLC Perth in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Dance Teacher. The role focuses on delivering high-quality Dance education across secondary years, fostering creativity, confidence and expression within a dynamic co-curricular life. Part-time hours may be considered.

The successful candidate will teach a range of dance techniques, assess progress, and support performances and productions while collaborating with colleagues and communicating with families.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for registration with TRBWA and appropriate teaching qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Dance across secondary year levels.
• Knowledge of contemporary Dance curriculum, technique, choreography and performance practices.
• Senior secondary Dance experience is highly regarded.
• Strong ability to create inclusive learning environments and support wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging and innovative Dance programmes aligned with curriculum requirements.
• Teach a range of dance techniques, styles, performance skills and choreographic processes.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment encouraging creativity and participation.
• Prepare and support students for performances, productions and events.
• Maintain contemporary knowledge of developments in Dance education and choreography.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational experiences and co-curricular activities.
• Communicate progress and curriculum requirements with students, families and staff.
