Job summary

Northern Star Surface Mining is seeking experienced Mechanical and Electrical Dump Truck Operators for a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth, Western Australia. You will operate CAT 785/789/793 trucks and Hitachi 3500AC-3 equipment, performing pre-start checks and reporting issues, while maintaining safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience operating mechanical or electric haul trucks in an open pit mining environment.
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork ethic.
• Solid understanding of open pit mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 785, 789 or 793 haul trucks safely and efficiently.
• Drive the rigid Hitachi 3500AC-3 truck.
• Perform pre-start checks and report maintenance issues.
• Follow designated haul routes and traffic procedures.
• Work closely with excavator operators, dispatch and supervisors.
• Stay alert to changing pit conditions and site hazards.
• Complete production records and clear shift handovers.
• Support a safety-first, team-driven work environment.

We're now hiring experienced Mechanical and ElectricalDump Truck Operators to join our crews, working on a2:1 FIFO roster from Perth.

Here’s what awaits you:

• Operating CAT 785, 789 or 793 haul trucks safely and efficiently
• Driving the rigid Hitachi 3500AC-3 truck
• Performing pre-start checks and reporting maintenance issues
• Following designated haul routes and traffic procedures
• Working closely with excavator operators, dispatch, and supervisors
• Staying alert to changing pit conditions and site hazards
• Completing production records and clear shift handovers

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• A minimum of 12 months' experience operating mechanical or electric haul trucks in an open pit mining environment
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork ethic
• Solid understanding of open pit mining operations
