Job summary

PLS Group in the Pilbara region is seeking a qualified Dump Truck Operator to operate CAT 785 or larger dump trucks in a hard rock open pit mining environment, ensuring safe and efficient production outcomes.

You will perform pre-start safety checks, report hazards, and work collaboratively with a can-do attitude while adhering to safety standards. This permanent full-time role is based at the Pilgangoora Operation with a 8:6, 7:7 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy surface mining equipment in a hard rock environment.
• Experience with CAT 785 or larger mechanical-drive dump trucks.
• Experience operating under Priority Rules and using a Fleet Management System.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Mining Production Supervisor - Haulage, the position of Dump Truck Operator is responsible for operating Dump Trucks in a hard rock production mining environment, working collaboratively towards delivering targeted production outcomes in a safe and efficient manner.

As a valued member of PLS and our Mining Production team, you'll work safely and collaboratively towards delivering targeted production outcomes and offer guidance and direction to your fellow operators.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region, which operates on an 8:6, 7:7 (days / nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities

• Operating Dump Trucks in a hard rock open pit mining environment.
• Conducting pre-start safety checks on mobile mining equipment.
• Reporting any hazards and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Working collaboratively with a can-do attitude, following industry best practices.
• Actively contributing to a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
• Assisting with other tasks and operating other machinery as required.

About you

• Experience operating Heavy Surface Mining equipment, ideally CAT 785 or larger mechanical-drive Dump Trucks in a hard rock production mining environment; preferably 2 years+.
• Experience operating under Priority Rules.
• Experience operating using a Fleet Management System.
• Operating exposure on Ancillary Mobile Mining equipment highly regarded.
• A flexible approach to work and helping others, including regular hot seating activities.
• A strong focus on safety and best practices within the mining industry.
• The ability to work 12.5-hour shifts, including nights.
• A current WA C-class manual driver's licence: HR preferred.
• You enjoy being part of a collaborative team and you're passionate about achieving goals together.
