Job summary

Test Valley Borough Council seeks a Driver Chargehand in Romsey to lead a small team in the safe and efficient collection of all waste types. You will oversee day‑to‑day activities, complete required paperwork, and support crew members in delivering frontline services to residents.

Leading a small team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of all types of waste, ensuring high standards of service delivery and supporting crew members in their day-to-day duties. You will provide advice, guidance and assistance to staff and residents as required and complete all necessary paperwork. The position is physically demanding but equally rewarding for enthusiastic and hardworking team players who take pride in delivering an important frontline service.

It is essential that you have an appropriate Category C licence (HGV2). Ideally you will also have the relevant Driver CPC qualification, however training could be given for the right candidate.
