Job summary

NOV Brisbane is seeking an experienced petroleum/mechanical engineer to work with global teams, refining drilling solutions and supporting field operations with on-site technical help.

You will analyze drilling data, select drill bits, perform post-run evaluations, and generate reports while ensuring adherence to NOV standards and customer specifications. The role combines engineering excellence with field support across offshore, deepwater, or land environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in petroleum, mechanical, or related engineering disciplines.
• 8+ years of experience in drilling, drill bits, or oilfield services.
• Experience with drill bit selection, design or field applications.
• Background in technical sales, applications engineering, or field engineering.
• Strong understanding of offshore, deepwater, or land drilling environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed drilling analysis including offset well review and lithology interpretation.
• Select and design drill bits (PDC and/or roller cone) for application requirements.
• Conduct dull grading analysis and post-run evaluations to drive improvement.
• Generate technical reports, run summaries, and benchmarking comparisons.
• Ensure compliance with NOV engineering standards and customer specs.
