Job description

Impact Drill & Blastoffers integrated drill and blast services, offering full Rock on Ground capabilities covering every stage of the project from survey, blast design, markout, drilling and bulk explosives supply to firing of blasts. With over 30 years’ experience, we service clients who work in the civil, mining and quarrying sectors.

As we continue our rapid expansion in the industry, an exciting opportunity has emerged within our North Queensland operations for a highly skilled Driller. Be part of our thriving team and make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry!

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute column and collar drill holes with precision drilling, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
  • Maintain meticulous daily drill logs, perform pre-start checks, and manage time sheets efficiently.
  • Cultivate a safety-centric approach while surpassing production forecasts.
  • Regularly utilize safety tools such as Take 5 assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Maintaining rigs in impeccable condition, ensuring they are clean, organized, and primed for operation.
  • Diligent reporting of maintenance issues and meticulous record-keeping of consumables.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Prior experience in blast hole drilling operations or a strong desire to learn and grow in this field.
  • Possession of a Certificate III in Drilling Operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Sandvik DPi or Pantera rigs is preferred.
  • Proven track record of thriving in remote work environments.
  • Ability to obtain national police check clearance and possess a current Australian Open Class Manual Drivers License.
