BHP Group's Olympic Dam mine is seeking a Drill & Blast Operator - Miner Stope Blasting to join the Underground Production Team. You will safely prepare, charge and fire production blast holes in line with plans, support stope blasting, and help maintain high safety and productivity standards.

Based at Olympic Dam on a 7/7 rotating day and night roster, you will operate drills (M6C and E60S), contribute to ventilation and ITs, and collaborate with teams to optimise underground operations while

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Current Blaster's Licence, or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
• Experience with explosives and operating production drills is advantageous, not required.

About the role

We are seeking a Drill & Blast Operator - Miner Stope Blasting to join our Underground Production Team at Olympic Dam. In this role, you will play a key part in the safe and efficient execution of stope blasting activities, supporting production performance and maintaining high operational standards across the underground mine.

Working within a collaborative and safety-focused team, you'll contribute to achieving production targets while providing flexibility across a range of underground operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Safely prepare, charge and fire production blast holes in line with mine plans and operating procedures.

Execute stope blasting activities efficiently while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Operate Production Drills (M6C and E60S) to support leave coverage and periods of increased operational demand.

Provide operational support across the department as required, including:

Ventilation activities

Integrated Tool Carriers (ITs)

Loaders and other ancillary production equipment

Contribute to continuous improvement, team performance and a strong safety culture within the Underground Production Team.

Please note: This role is based at Olympic Dam and operates on a 7/7 rotating day and night roster.

About You

You are a safety-focused underground mining professional who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. With a proactive approach to work, you bring strong operational capability, sound judgement and a commitment to maintaining high standards in safety and performance.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in underground hard rock mining.

A current Blaster's Licence , or the ability to obtain one.

The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Previous experience working with explosives will be highly regarded.

Previous experience operating production drills will be highly regarded.

A strong commitment to safety, with the confidence to identify and elevate risks when required.

Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams.

The ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing tasks and maintain a high level of attention to detail.

A flexible and collaborative approach, with a willingness to support a range of underground production activities as operational needs require.
