Job summary

Redpath Australia is seeking a motivated Drill & Blast Engineer to join our team at Cowal Gold Operations. You will plan, design, monitor and optimise underground drilling and blasting to achieve safe, productive and cost-effective mining outcomes.

This is a hands-on site-based role on an 8/6 FIFO roster, building relationships with crews and developing practical solutions for continuous improvement. You will work closely with underground operations personnel, supervisors and technical teams to

Qualifications

• Experience in underground hard rock mining environments.
• Exposure to drill and blast, mine planning or mine engineering activities.
• Experience using mine planning and scheduling software.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on approach with a hands-on attitude to work with underground operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drilling, blasting and mine plans to support production targets and schedules.
• Design and optimise drill patterns, charging designs and firing sequences.
• Conduct underground inspections and provide technical support to operational teams.
• Monitor blast performance and complete stope performance analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, recovery, dilution control and mining efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production and development data and reporting.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators and site leadership to achieve operational objectives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across underground mining activities.

Redpath Australia is seeking a motivated and proactive Drill & Blast Engineer to join our team at Cowal Gold Operations.

Working closely with underground operations personnel, supervisors and technical teams, you will be responsible for the planning, design, monitoring and optimisation of underground drilling and blasting activities to achieve safe, productive and cost-effective mining outcomes.

This is a hands-on site-based role where you'll spend time underground building relationships with crews, understanding operational challenges and developing practical solutions that contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position operates on an 8/6 FIFO roster, offering the opportunity to work on a leading underground gold mining operation while maintaining a strong work-life balance.
