SMEC is seeking an Engineer – Drainage & Flooding, Roads & Highways to join our Sydney team on a permanent basis. You will contribute to transport and infrastructure projects across NSW and nationally, delivering robust drainage design and flood modelling.

With 2+ years’ experience, you will work alongside an expert multidisciplinary team, applying Austroads guidelines and industry software to produce high‑quality analysis and design outcomes that meet client expectations and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering or similar).
• 2+ years in drainage, flooding, hydrology or water infra.
• Experience with roads/highways, rail or urban development.
• Familiarity with Austroads Part 5, 5A & 5B and Australian Rainfall and Runoff guideline 2019.
• Experience with 12d, TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM, DRAINS, QGIS or similar.
• Understanding of drainage design, stormwater management, flood modelling or flood risk assessment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to drainage & flood design for major infrastructure projects.
• Perform flood modelling and analysis to meet client and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across transport and urban development.
• Apply Austroads guidelines and best practices in design and assessment.
• Support project delivery from concept to detailed design.
