Job summary

Larrakia Bilirra Group is seeking a Drain Cleaning and Jetting Operator to join our Melbourne team, delivering sewer and stormwater cleaning, root cutting, CCTV support and pipeline assessments across water networks.

The ideal candidate has HPWJ ticket, HR/MR licence, White Card, and a safety-focused mindset with a strong work ethic. Opportunity to work on reactive and planned maintenance across Victoria.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating jet vac, drain cleaning or HPWJ units.
• HPWJ ticket – essential
• HR or MR licence
• White Card (Construction Induction) – essential
• Confined Space Entry ticket – highly regarded
• CCTV pipeline inspection experience – highly regarded
• Strong understanding of sewer, stormwater and drainage systems
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
• Reliability and a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Operate jet vac trucks, drain cleaning units and HPWJ equipment safely and professionally.
• Clear sewer and stormwater blockages, including root cutting and debris removal.
• Perform planned pipeline cleaning and maintenance for water authorities and councils.
• Respond to reactive callouts and emergency blockages.
• Support CCTV inspection and pipeline condition assessment works.
• Assist with NDD / hydro excavation when required.
• Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
• Document work through required reporting and paperwork.

Job description

As a Drain Cleaning and Jetting Operator, you will be an integral part of our Melbourne team, delivering sewer, stormwater and drain cleaning, blockage clearing, root cutting, high-pressure water jetting and pipeline condition assessments across water, sewer and stormwater networks — on both reactive callouts and planned maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Operating jet vac trucks, drain cleaning units and high-pressure water jetting equipment safely and professionally
• Clearing sewer and stormwater blockages, including root cutting and debris removal
• Performing planned pipeline cleaning and maintenance programs for water authorities and councils
• Responding to reactive callouts and emergency blockages
• Supporting CCTV inspection and pipeline condition assessment works
• Assisting with NDD / hydro excavation works when required
• Adhering to all safety, quality and environmental procedures
• Carrying out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Working closely with Supervisors, project teams and clients to deliver works on time and to specification
• Completing required paperwork, reporting and documentation
