Job summary

Anglo American Australia is seeking a Dragline Mining Engineer to provide dedicated technical support to dragline operations, focusing on short-term planning, design and execution. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the role aims for safe, efficient dragline performance and alignment with site production goals.

Responsibilities include developing dragline schedules, assisting with mine plans, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards across Capcoal Surface

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years' experience in a mining engineering role.
• Dragline experience or exposure to large-scale open-cut operations preferred.
• Experience in short-term mine planning, scheduling or design.
• Familiarity with dragline planning and mining design software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with operational teams.
• A practical, execution-focused approach to engineering.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining short-term dragline schedules and designs.
• Supporting daily production planning and dragline sequencing.
• Providing technical advice to dragline operations for safe, efficient execution.
• Assisting with spoil placement strategies, strip sequencing and design optimisation.
• Working with operations and planning teams to align plans and execution.
• Contributing to mine plans that support future growth and production targets.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within dragline operations.
• Maintaining compliance with safety, environmental and operational standards.
